Official says connection quality in Russia’s top regions high

MOSCOW, Mar 3 (PRIME) -- Connection quality in Russia’s developed regions is at a rather high level, but there are still remote areas that have access only to satellite connection and lack advanced services, Deputy Communications Minister Dmitry Alkhazov said Thursday at the Telecom QoS Russia forum.

Connection services were put on a short list of consumer goods and services whose prices remained flat in 2015 despite the current economic turmoil, Alkhazov said, as cited by the ministry in a statement.

Independent international experts earlier said that an economic accessibility of connection services in Russia is at a high level.

According to the Networked Readiness Index, Russia ranked 15th in 2015 and outstripped the U.S., the U.K., Germany, Japan and Sweden.
